Trogir is a small picturesque town located only 30 km north of Split and only 6 km far from the Split airport. The old town of Trogir has a unique position: it is situated on a small island between the mainland and the island of Čiovo and connected to them by two bridges. The small stone bridge connects Trogir to mainland, and the metal-concrete drawbridge has been connecting Trogir to the island of Čiovo since 1962. The newer parts of the town are placed partly on the mainland next to the stone bridge, and partly on the island of Čiovo, close to the Čiovo bridge.
The old town is the town with over 2300 years of tradition. It was founded in 3rd century BC by the Greek colonists from the island of Vis. Greeks, and later on Romans and Venetians, left their traces in Trogir, but the nicest buildings date from the medieval ages. The main sight of Trogir is the labyrinth of its narrow stone streets surrounded with the beautiful romanesque and gothic buildings and the stone houses . The stone beauty with hidden details will delight every visitor and they will surely be recorded by camera. Every visitior should also visit the Cathedral of St. Lawrence from 13the century, the Kamerlengo fortress from the 15the century and the green market that is placed on the mainland next to the stone bridge.
For its beauty and the rich historical and cultural inheritance , in 1997. Trogir was included in the list of the UNESCO word cultural heritage. And at the beginning of 2016. the National Geographic magazine crowned Trogir as the world’s nicest island city.

During summer period streets of the old town are full of life: dalmatian songs can be heard on every corner and Trogir becomes a real open-air museum. Rooths of tourism date to 1893. when first inn and pension was open in the old town of Trogir. Nowadays, there are more and more small hotels and private accommodation. It’s is also well known for its nautical tourism. ACI marina Trogir was built in 1986. ACI marina is facing old town from the island of Ciovo and it is only five minutes walking distance far from the core of Trogir. When berthing in this marina, you have only 5 minutes walk to the beautiful old town and great restaurants. Marina has 174 berths with water and power supply, but in high season it is good to call and reserve your place in advance. Regarding the facilities, there is a reception, restaurant, toilets and showers, launderette for 5 euros, grocery store, nautica store, repair service, 10 t boat crane, parking lot and the gas station is just at the western end of the marina.

For years these two briges and the road around the old town were the only connection of mainland and the island of Čiovo, that was a large load to this best preserved romanic-gothic town in the middle Europe. But, till the end of 2016. , about a kilometer far from the old town, there will be built another new bridge mainland-island of Čiovo, that will relieve traffic congestion during summer months.
